The Cemetery

The cemetery in Sitges is called the Cementari San Sebastian . It looks down over the town from a spot on high. It is free to enter and is interesting to take a walk around. The cemetery is not just filled with tombstones, but also with old sculptures by modernist artists. If you stand in front of its white wall, you can enjoy views over the whole of the Sitges seafront. In the summer sunshine its interesting old tombstones look beautiful, adorned with colourful flowers and offerings. It is worth a visit if you are heading towards the beaches to the eastern side of the town.

Sitges Church
The 'Esglesia' in Sitges is an iconic feature in the city, looking down across the beaches. It is a whitewashed building sitting in the square called Plaça Baluard. This square is a good place to sit and take in views of the coastline as well as the city itself.

The Cinema Retiro

Sitges's cinema is called Cinema Retiro and is part of a local recreational club. In true Sitges style, it sits within beautiful old gardens and is next to a bar where jazz is played. The cinema has no website, so in order to find out what films are playing and when, you should call the number below or simply drop by at the cinema. There are generally four films available to watch at any one time. Unfortunately films are not shown in their original language. They are dubbed into Castellano - so the cinema will only appeal if you can speak the language or simply like to watch the pictures.

Restaurants
Sitges in crammed full of places to eat - varying from fast food joints and cheap take aways to high-end restaurants in picturesque settings. As a seaside town, seafood can often be found on the menu. However, if you are craving different cuisines, such as Thai food or pizzas, you will find that these sorts of restaurants are not too difficult to find.
Remember that, as with all tourist towns, the main streets will offer meals at higher prices and not necessarily at the highest standards. Having said this, beach-front restaurants such as El Rincon del Pepe offer their fair share of quality cuisine in a beautiful outdoor setting.
If you are interested in enjoying a luxurious three course meal but can't afford high prices it is often a good idea to make lunch time your main meal of the day and go for a lighter dinner. Look out for restaurants offering the 'Menu del Dia' - this will allow you to enjoy a set three-course menu, normally with bread and wine, at an affordable rate.
For more information on the restaurants in Sitges, see our Restaurants in Sitges page.
