Review El Xalet Hotel, Sitges
 |
| Hotel El Xalet |
Hotel El Xalet oozes with charm. It is a converted home designed by the art deco architect Gaietà Buigas i Monravà and it looks as though little has changed since it was built over a century ago. The hotel’s exterior gives a clue to what lies beneath – an ornate gate and an art nouveau hanging sign welcome customers to the hotel. The rooms have high ceilings, antique furniture and individual quirky detailing in the tiles and fittings. A lobby and dining area offer intricate tiles and large windows, letting in lots of sunlight.
Hotel Facilities
 |
| Hotel el Xalet Pool |
Hotel El Xalet has an outdoor pool that is open all year round from 11:00 – 18:00. During my stay the pool was not being used by any of the customers and had leaves floating in it. This is likely to change at the height of the summer season.
Breakfast is included in the room price. It is served around the pool in the outdoor area. It consists of croissants, sandwiches and toast with orange juice and coffee. It is served from 09:00 – 10:30.
In the evening time the breakfast area is transformed into an outdoor bar area where cocktails are served and there is cushioned seating.

Rooms
There are a total of 11 rooms in the hotel Two of these are singles, one sleeps four people and the rest are doubles. Rooms include a television, ensuite bathroom with shower and bath, hairdryer and toiletries.
If you find that Hotel El Xalet is fully booked, it is worth asking whether they have rooms available at their sister hotel – Hotel Noucentista, on the same road as Hotel El Xalet and with a similar style.
Hotel Location
Hotel El Xalet is located conveniently close to the train station – a less than five minute walk. It is also located a ten minute walk from the beach.
In a Nutshell:
Hotel El Xalet is a rare gem of a hotel. It has a character and charm that is often lost in more modern hotels. Its prices are surprisingly affordable for such a picturesque setting and central location. Don’t fail to make this one of your first ports of call when making hotel reservations for a trip to Sitges.
