Sitges to Barcelona Airport Transfer: Travel Options to Sitges

Barcelona Airport is the closest airport to Sitges. It offers a direct coach option from Barcelona airport to the centre of Sitges. A car journey from Barcelona airport to Sitges will take less than half an hour, so you may wish to hire a car or take a taxi as it is close enough for this to be an affordable and convenient option.

Transfer from Barcelona Airport to Sitges

Sitges is located approximately 20 km south of Barcelona Airport. Frustratingly, there is no direct train from Barcelona Airport to Sitges (see below for more details). Therefore, you may choose to take the coach directly from the airport to Sitges. Alternatively, if you are travelling in a large group, it may be worth considering taking a taxi to Sitges. Barcelona Airport is the closest of all the airports to Sitges – therefore a taxi could prove to be a convenient and relatively cheap option.

It is also worth considering hiring a car for your stay in Sitges. The coastal drive from the airport is beautiful, if slightly hair-raising, due to the narrow winding seaside roads. Sitges itself is small, but the surrounding area of Garraf is known for its attractive landscape and vineyards. Transfer to Sitges from Barcelona Airport by Train

There are no direct trains from Barcelona Airport to Sitges. Therefore, it is necessary to take the C2 RENFE train from Terminal 2 to El Prat de Llobregat which is the first stop after the airport. You can then catch a train to Sitges from this station.

Transfer to Sitges from Barcelona Airport by Coach

There are coaches that run directly from Barcelona Airport to Sitges. The MonBus runs from outside Terminal 2B of Barcelona airport. It also runs from the coach station outside T1 follow signs for the station inside the airport. See our Guide to Transfers from Barcelona Airport for more information.

The MonBus runs once per hour from Monday to Friday. On Saturdays the bus runs every two hours. On Sundays and Holidays they run four times per day. The times provided will be either for Monday – Friday, Saturdays, Sundays or Nighttime.

Transfer to Sitges from Barcelona Airport by Bus

There is no direct public or private bus from Barcelona Airport to Sitges other than the MonBus coach service(see above for more details).

Transfer to Sitges from Barcelona Airport by Taxi

The distance from Barcelona Airport to Sitges is approximately 20 km. This will take about 30 minutes in a taxi, costing around 40 - 50 euros.

If you are deciding whether to fly into Barcelona, Reus or Girona airports, it is worth considering all costs. If you find that a flight to Reus or Girona is cheaper than one to Barcelona Airport, make sure that you add up the other costs of further travel before making a booking. The money saved on the flight may be lost in the cost of transferring to Sitges. And, money aside, just think of that extra hour spent travelling when you could have been topping up your tan on the beach!
